DBG is implementing a six-month Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) project funded by the Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF) – Standard allocation 1. The overall objective of the project is to enhance food security, strengthen household resilience, and promote sustainable livelihoods by supporting local food production and income generation. The project targets vulnerable communities in under-served and hard-to-reach areas of Beletweyne District, Somalia. The main component involves Unconditional Cash Transfers (UCT) to support 1,900 households (approximately 11,400 individuals) across three IDP sites and five villages primarily focusing on newly displaced and highly vulnerable populations. Each household will receive $55 per month for three months, totaling $165. Additionally, the project supports 900 households (around 5,400 individuals) in five riverine villages with one-time provision of farm inputs to boost local food production. This integrated approach addresses immediate basic needs while laying the foundation for longer-term food security and livelihood recovery.
